EXAMINING THE VALUE IN THE SYMPHONY
This was a team based research project aimed at creating a taxonomy of the symphony. Each of us were first tasked with studying an instrument of the orchestra, which would then be placed into an exhibit. The form of the exhibit would be determined based off of the how we decided to classify the instruments within the taxonomy. My team decided to look into the value of the symphony. Through this process we found the rather large income disparities happening within the Utah orchestra; that being the fact that every musician makes roughly the same salary regardless of if you play 1000 notes, or 10 notes during a performance. The data below used to prove our hypothesis came from a single symphonic score: "Star Wars: Episode IV" composed by John Williams (1997).
